I was looking for an American made shoe that gets tougher every year. Most shoes will literally fall apart in no time if worn every day. The soles will wear down with very little use and initially have little to no support, making them impractical for actual use. Although such cheap shoes may seem cheaper, you have to constantly buy new shoes, which means that you pay a lot more if you buy low-quality shoes. Would you rather pay $50 every 6 months if you wear cheap shoes all the time, or $100 every 3-4 years? In fact, many inferior shoes these days can cost hundreds of dollars and are just marketing. This is a huge cost savings by buying quality shoes. New Balance sneakers made in the USA have always been amazing shoes. Note that although New Balance is one of the last shoe companies to make shoes in the US, most of their shoes are also made abroad and these shoes are of significantly lower quality. But if you go to their website, you can easily find the ones that are made in the USA. They fall well into 3 main types: 100% overseas made, (partially) assembled in the US, and mostly US made (with some foreign materials). The leaps in quality between the three groups are enormous. If you are looking for quality running shoes, I would highly recommend New Balance. Just make sure you get the US versions. Whether you're trying to buy Made in the USA or not, quality and long-term value are a major benefit of a Made in USA version. There's no reason to blindly settle for buying junk when you can buy something better.
