Regional free DVD player arrived on time and in perfect condition. Works well - the only disappointment is that the "Internet Ready" features only work for a wired connection. I'm not sure I would have spent more for a wireless version and that wasn't the main reason I bought it, but I got excited when I read the box/'combo manual' and then left the excitement a little after. Unfortunately, I figured out how to connect and use the internet. This resulted in a software update that made the device unusable with DVDs/Blu-rays other than Region 1. There was no warning about this "side effect". I was also not told that a third-party firmware update that allowed the device to be "regional" voided Sony's warranty. I've been trying to get help for about two weeks, first from Revain, then from Sony, and finally from the seller, to no avail. When the seller provided a second link to download the firmware, we gave up and returned the product. So everything I said in the first post was correct - as long as you are willing to accept the fact that the device cannot be used. with the ability to connect to the internet. I also spent money on an extended electronics service plan - definitely a waste of time as the 3rd party voided the manufacturer's warranty.
