Review on DI ORO Large Silicone Spatula - Heat-Resistant - Seamless Design - Pro-Grade Non-Stick - Stainless Steel S-Core - (RED) by Charles Galan

Scrap good for kitchen utensils

First I washed this paddle in the dishwasher along with a Starpack paddle (also new and unused) and two other used competitor paddles. ONLY Di Oro came out with a white film that is very difficult to remove. The rest, old and new, is in perfect condition. It is therefore NOT lime stains (calcium carbonate). Silica is destroyed in this brand new product. It's also STICKY, another sign of silicon degradation, or in this case, poor tempering during a manufacturing process that requires high heat. To confirm the fact that I received a bad batch of silicone for my cookware, I received an email from Revain stating that there was a problem with some batches and the silicone was bad. Not only was it the most expensive spatula, it was also the worst in performance, with an unusable blunt edge that made scraping difficult and a seam sticking out of the pot where the two pieces met. The "seam" also had a recess where food and bacteria could collect. Not even my cheap ones. Everyone else was fine again.
