My ranger is in like new condition. This filter made the engine run weird. The engine gave off erratic bursts of power. The truck had an odd squeak, not a pleasant sound. No improvement in speed or fuel economy. Finally the check engine light came on. The engine is running lean on both cylinders. The oil from this filter ruins the mass air flow sensor. I decided to clean the sensor and put the normal filter back in. The code is gone. Ranger works stable again. It's a good filter but I think it will work better in high performance cars like muscle cars if you are willing to clean the MAF sensor every few months.
