This was an exact match to my existing one on a 1998 Chevrolet S-10 with stock transmission. I simply (but carefully) removed the rod from the stop pins, made sure the springs didn't pop out, pulled out the pins one at a time, and moved them to the new part (so my old key still worked). Put the springs back on the pins and then put the rod of the old block on top of the new block. It works like new again.
