I highly recommend this pumpkin carving kit if you have young children or wrist problems
Most kits have small tools and require a good level of dexterity and grip strength. The upscale ones are too spicy for kids and clumsy people, and the cheap ones are mostly too dumb. You set the golden mean. They are larger and easier to hold than most kits I've used. Creating a pumpkin masterpiece requires some of the smaller tools for more detailed work, but this has worked brilliantly for our family.
