Review on πŸ”§ Heat Shrink Connector Crimping Tool - Ratcheting Wire Crimper Pliers - Ratchet Terminal Crimper - Wire Crimp Tool by Wirefy by Rodney Harris

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Amazing professional crimping tool at an affordable price!

I have an Irwin professional wire stripper and it does a great job stripping wires. I also used the crimping portion of this tool to make the specified crimps. Unfortunately, it doesn't always crimp perfectly and requires an unusual amount of force to crimp. It's time to switch to Wirefy branded professional crimping tools. Obviously at this price point this tool is 100% made in China. A real American, German or Japanese industrial ratchet crimping tool will cost you hundreds of dollars! If you look at the photo I uploaded showing the end of the press jaw, you can clearly see the quality control issues related to the quality of the metal. So I've found that the quality of the metal can be sub-par, but how does that work? The good news is that it works amazingly! This was my first time using this type of crimping tool so I struggled at first until I figured out the best way to do it. My best advice is to insert the pin connector into the terminal first and then start crimping until the metal terminals touch the terminal. (Don't squeeze yet!) Then insert the wire into the terminal, then start crimping the terminal and wire together, then use both hands to make things easier. seal of quality remains. In all of the crimping work I've done with fully insulated contacts, none have had the wire pulled out! The tool has a certain weight, so it gives the feeling of hard work. The ratchet seems to work well and isn't as noisy as some others I've heard people do on youtube videos. The handle also feels good in the hand, the tool has never slipped out of my hand. When the instrument is in the closed jaw empty position I can confirm what others have said that it can be difficult to depress that little latch to open the instrument. But I managed to do it anyway, so it's not that big of a problem. I haven't had any issues with this tool so far and will recommend it with a solid 5 out of 5 stars!
