Disregard assembly instructions - cut to size.

Mounted on an exterior glass door 2 days ago. The size of the jar we needed to cover was about 6 feet (height) x 2 inches (width). I followed the directions that came with the product, not my gut. If I had to redo I would go with my flair. The instructions say to cut the foil one inch larger than the jar you want to freeze and trim with a utility knife after it's attached. I suggest carefully cutting the sheet to the exact size (less than maybe 1/4 inch) before gluing it to the glass. It cuts easily with good scissors. Corners that can be bent and cut. It's hard to get a knife to move perfectly straight, and it's almost impossible to cut corners with perfect precision. The good news is that small imperfections don't bother me (at least not for me) and I'm usually quite prone to such things. In general, the film does what we wanted - it looks good. You will need a squeegee to remove the bubbles and it will take some persistence to remove them all. One of the reasons I suggest trimming a little less so you can push the bubbles all the way to the edge of the foil, as with a *perfect* fit it would be almost impossible to get the squeegee blade into the corner tight enough to seal them push the bubble out from under the foil. I recommend a squeegee with a soft white silicone edge. We had one and it worked much better than the harder black rubber we use in our tiled shower enclosure.

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Not everything is as good as it says
