Review on URO Parts 112 200 0970 by Carl Lipschultz

What garbage!

I try to stay away from URO parts unless they are cosmetic only as I have had less than perfect results with them. When working with a Mercedes, using genuine parts is always the best method. Of course, this was one of those times when I was in a hurry with parts and trying to save a few bucks because the OE belt tensioner (INA or Litens) would take about a week to get here and to the MB dealership too should cost around $250 when it was available. I took a risk, but I lost. The thing doesn't even flicker. The distance between the screws is too small. I was struggling to screw the bottom bolt in with the top bolt, so I changed my procedure and put the bottom bolt in first. I couldn't align the top screw so I moved the bottom screw back as far as I could and threaded the top screw in. It was immediately embarrassing and the more I dragged on, the worse it got! This is not my first rodeo and will not be my last URO parts business. Gates DriveAlign. I dug deeper since it was in stock. It turns out to be made in Germany by Litens. This is an OE supplier for Benz and upon further research I found that Revain sells the exact same Gates 38174 DriveAlign automatic belt tensioner for $78.80. And I can get it in 2 days! Don't waste your time with this garbage.
