Car detailing is a relaxing hobby for me and while waxing or even mild abrasives can make the painted surface shiny I wanted to give away the car I was selling it is almost brand new. I've tried other products available at car washes but I had deep scratches that they couldn't touch. So I bought an orbital bumper, a velcro disc and a set of foam pads and tested the 3m product. Wow what's the difference. The scratches were gone and after applying 3M I used a range of Pinnacle products with less abrasion until I applied the wax. I was impressed, as were the buyers of the car. As if my first experience wasn't enough, my daughter decided to scrape ice and snow off her new car with a plastic ice scraper. Apparently I never told her that a glass de-icer would damage the paint on her car. What a mess. I thought they would never come out but after applying 3M all the scratches went away. I was very impressed. AGAIN. To be fair, if the scratch you're trying to remove is very deep (to the point of removing paint) no polish will fix it, but if it's limited to a clear coat I haven't used a better product. Buy good pads, clean them from time to time, follow the instructions and you shouldn't have any problems.
