I cannot vouch for the weight limits of this basket as the wire gauge seems to be slightly thinner than my previous basket. However, for what I need it for, it works great. I'll get a gallon of milk from the grocery store if I want. It is very easy to install, easily attaches with a hook and opens when needed by releasing the hook. I would warn users to keep their fingers/hands off when it opens. Otherwise, you will be urgently reminded. All in all I'd recommend this basket for a quick bit of shopping or for a reasonably light load (don't think I'll go over 15-20 pounds). Enjoy!
