These cup wheels are commonly used as the first step in edge grinding in almost any case requiring surface preparation, exposing aggregate, removing adhesives, paint, coatings, putty, etc. Excellent for extremely hard concrete because they can do not freeze. They break through soft concrete even quicker, but I found it wears them out much quicker. They have replaced most other cup wheels as they are more efficient than other technologies, although I use many higher grit ceramic cup wheels for surface finishing in the polishing steps.
