So I wanted to get a cheap welder to use at home. It had good reviews so I bought it. It arrived today so I lit it. I'm not a welder - I usually tack welds and sometimes I weld the bottom of old cars (I use MIG for that). So, as a test, I have an old upright smoker with a rusty bottom. Bought a new square pipe and set the welder on 90 amps - lots of arcing - lowered the setting to 50 amps. Welded with no problems. The size is so small that I almost laughed when unpacking it. I thought it was a child's toy. The color matches my Dewalt tools so it fits perfectly. Next time I'll try 3/8 steel and see how it works.
