Review on Maxi Smart 🪨 Waterstone Flattener for Flattening Whetstones by Andrew Griggs

Wow you don't have to worry about long sessions. Just wow! So I've used many leveling plates over the years: DMT (both "regular" plates and plates specifically designed for leveling), Atoma, Norton, EZ-LAP and many more. I have to say it's sooo much better. First of all the price. To be honest I was a bit hesitant to try it because of the price, you usually get what you pay for, but this is definitely an exception. As shown in the photos, the stone (and included ruler) is EXTREMELY flat. The images show a straight edge on a 5/8 inch piece of float glass no larger than 0.00001 inch over the entire 12 inch length. Then I showed the border on the panel itself. Both images have an LED flashlight on the back to illuminate any surface. Flaws (as you can see, there are none). Next, the packaging was excellent. The box is stable and the inlay is made of hard foam (almost like some kind of memory foam). Definitely looks luxurious. The best part? This is the version of this plate. I decided to put them through the alarm clock. I flattened 3 Suehiro Debado, Suehiro Gokumyo 20,000, Shapton K0710 (8000 grit), Shapton Glass 1k and 2 Spyderco ceramics (8x2 and 8x3). The photo of the diamonds was taken after all of this (it was taken with my main OMAX compound microscope at 40x magnification). Flatness (relatively, it took me over 5 hours on the Atoma 140 and almost 4 hours on the DMT round) and gave me a finish similar to their "Excellent" rating. yo) I will order two more after posting this review. I would kick myself if this product was no longer available in the future. SUPER PRODUCT! The folks at MAFFALO can be seriously proud of themselves!
