I have four 4K monitors: LG 27UN850-W X2, a dual monitor desktop (hereinafter referred to as LG) Dell U2720Q X2, a dual monitor desktop (hereinafter referred to as Dell) I use LG, my spouse uses Dell. LG is more suitable for my needs. From my husband's point of view, the Dell is preferable to the LG.1. Why is LG better suited to my needs? a) Both LG and Dell have anti-glare screens. But I found Dell to be a little more reflective than LG. I have a "designer white" table. The Dell reflection is particularly noticeable in the evening when using a table lamp and watching videos. On the other hand, LG doesn't distract my attention with glare. The Dell glare issue could be due to the combination of my desk color and light source setting. But with the exact same setup, the LG doesn't distract me with reflections. b) LG has connections on the back instead of below. I want to try different gadgets in the last few weeks. LG's design makes it very convenient to connect/disconnect cables and FireTV stickers. The traditional Dell port design also works well thanks to the better ergonomics of the stands (more on that later). Add devices/cables to Dell by simply rotating the screen. c) LG has a handy joystick to control the screen. The traditional Dell button is nothing like it. Again, because I like to change the settings and try different gadgets.2. Why is Dell a better fit for my spouse's needs? Ergonomics, ergonomics, ergonomics again! My husband needs ergonomic monitor stands. Dell's design fits perfectly into the picture. Complete freedom of adjustment with extremely wide ranges in every direction.3. What do these two monitors have in common? All of them are very good for daily work/entertainment. Again, we are not professional graphic designers or video editors. For regular users like us, you can't go wrong with either LG or Dell. Most of the time, all of our monitors are in reading/office/text mode. When it comes to entertainment, LG/Dell don't really matter to me. I see no difference when watching videos, playing games or editing family photos. They look almost the same for everyday entertainment. I've also placed LG/Dell side by side and played the same 4K HDR YouTube videos on all monitors at full HDR settings, but can't say which is better. They are all calibrated to their own standards. In their own frame of reference they all look very beautiful. By the way, isn't finding a job and doing what you love the best entertainment? Office/Text mode might be the best entertainment mode for me :-) Finally, because this is my serious review under this LG product label. I will add 3 more points just for LG: 1. LG has the chunky voltage converter shown in the picture. The power cord on each side of the voltage converter is about 55 inches long (about 110 inches total including the transformer in the middle), which is enough for any home office. However, with a standing desk, I have to go the extra mile to hide the bulky transformer in the cable management compartment.2. One of the LG monitors has a very small problem with the stand. I sent it back and bought a new one. The problem is gone.3. LG has a built in speaker that is easy to use with a FireTV 4K Stick, just plug and play. If I want to control the volume, I use LG's monitor joystick or a separate speaker, or Bluetooth (Jabra Evolution 75) which outputs a device with built-in volume controls. The joystick also makes switching the HDMI input very easy, FireTV to Nvidia Quadro, very smooth joystick controls. But it's better to get a 4K HDMI switch.
