I've been using this sponge EVERY DAY for over a week (we don't have a dishwasher) and I can tell you it's great! It is very durable, just a little slippery than normal cellulose (or similar) sponge. I've been looking for an alternative to the sponge for a while as I hate the germs and odors that a regular sponge can pick up (even if like me you regularly clean your sponge with bleach). It holds soapy water very well, doesn't stink, and has great cleaning power without scratching delicate surfaces (of course, you can't expect it to clean sticky foods without soaking the dishes first). Food also doesn't stick to them like ordinary sponges, but if something "sticks" just add a little soap, scrub lightly and rinse. Like new. I also like the fact that water doesn't penetrate like a normal sponge and thus suppresses mold/odours. I've also seen other silicone "sponges" which are basically a flat piece of silicone with bristly "protrusions" and read how slippery they are, so when I stumbled across them I wanted to try them and i was glad i did it.
