I bought this for the Waterbox Cube 20, it sits in the rear center chamber and rests on the floor, the height is just right. I also use the filter sock as my first mechanical filter and change it every few days. In order for it to work, the tank must be properly filled. I had to play around with different aero bricks because the big bubbles came out of the kit for the first time. I have tried the Lee brick but it also leaks, tried supergluing it which worked but it cracked on me 24 hours after putting it in. I went back to the original which is now sealed well with no glue. They may need to be soaked a bit before use. Once a good fine bladder stone was building up (4w pump) it took about 2 days for the skimmat to rise high enough in the collection column, albeit very slowly. After 10 days, it works steadily and produces a greenish-brown lean mass. Out of curiosity, I tested the assembled Skimmat. NO3 levels were around 3-4ppm, but the NH3 was the most intense shade of green I've seen in this test, much more so than when I first set up the tank for cycling. It definitely works. PO4 on the display is constant around 0.04-0.05. As long as I'm happy It's simple, quiet and does the job best.
