They don't flicker, they pulsate. Three pulses, then a tiny flicker. Rinse and repeat. It doesn't look like real candles at all. They will be a great replacement emergency light kit for your vehicle. Otherwise they are good. I've been running them on 'light' mode for about 18 hours for the last 3pm/night and my rechargeable batteries are just starting to drain. (Those are my batteries. They don't come with them.) The price is great. The board works fine. Their brightness is satisfactory. The wax is real and apart from the ripple they look realistic. I haven't tried the timer. The reason I keep them is because I have a set of rechargeable tea candles which are very bright and flicker a lot and I can fit one in each candle. I light these candles and they look amazing with my tea lights.
