Please see the pictures I've attached; I think they will give you the best part of the review. They were taken when my old phone was pressed against the eyepiece. Great pictures didn't require expensive equipment. I had never used a telescope before and didn't know what features I needed, but this one was on the astrophysicist's short list of recommendations. It took a bit of patience to put together and get to know the settings at first, but now I grab this thing and carry it around whenever the moon is out. Excellent price. Easy to use once you get the hang of it. I've never used a red dot pointer (I don't know how to change batteries!) but I've never needed it to find what I'm looking for. I highly recommend it.
