My wife has a 2011 X3 in like new condition except for the driver's door panel compartment which fell apart. I ordered the original replacement for $40. After watching the installation video, I didn't have the heart to take the door apart. I was partially looking for this recording and was very skeptical about the installation video. This is a straight bar that goes over the existing bay. Simply remove the flat panel from the bay and push the new one straight down until you hear a click. Installation took less than a minute, looks perfect. Good product. The reviews I've read about removing the door panel are clearly for a different product.
