Review on 🎡 UGears Hurdy Gurdy: Unleashing Musical Magic Through Mechanical Self-Assembly by Luis Norman

Revainrating 5 out of 5

$70 not $1000! If your string broke, read my review

First, let's remember that this is a $70 version of a regular $1000 item. I'll start with the bad first, then the good. Minus: 1 string broke on the first day of play. 2 it doesn't say exactly what type of line to use (I changed it to a 50lb big game trilene, .028 diameter, almost 2x thicker) 3. explain that you're using no rosin at all don't want to lose tone it (dirty cheap stuff in music store) 5 spare strings don't come, you have to understand people break them and we pay 70 dollars, at least send some spare reel of string, it's 5-10 dollars for 275 yards. Pros: 1 fun to build, wish I had varnished my wood before assembling 2 can actually play music (breaking notes early like someone just starting out on a violin) 3 much cheaper to play around and see if you willing to spend over $1000 for a real barrel organ (I never expected it to sound great, just want to see if I like it before I spend a small fortune on a real one.) 4 looks very nice. As there are really only 4 pros and 5 cons I couldn't give it 5 stars, the company makes great products but it needs to add a few extra elements to really give it a 4-5 star rating.

Pros
  • Pretty impressive
Cons
  • Crumpled
