Better than the sum of its parts

I bought a Garmin Edge 130 Plus with HRM strap because I wanted a GPS computer with a heart rate monitor but didn't want to spend as much as I did searched. I would spend on another bike. At first glance, the device may seem small and perhaps a little limited in features, but once the display is set up and the device is synced to Strava and Garmin Connect, it really comes alive with data and functionality. The only item I'm looking at while loading. Trail or uphill is my heart rate, and the display allows you to place your favorite items in the most legible spots on the screen. The HR strap is comfortable and secure; You get loads of heart rate zone data that's automatically uploaded to your apps after every ride. The display shows the recovery time at the end of each ride, which I really like. It picks up the GPS signal better than my Samsung S8 so no more lost travel data. It comes with two mounts, which is handy if you want to use it on another bike or if you're using the HRM on an exercise bike. The small size is convenient to carry in your pocket when jogging, hiking or going to the gym. Battery life is decent, I do a couple of rides on a single charge. While the small screen isn't as trendy as modern bike computers that look like mini smartphones, my focus when I'm mountain biking is more on the trail. All the vital features are there, making it great overall. I highly recommend this device to people who think they just need a minimalist HRM equipped GPS computer to back up Strava. It does everything you need, and the apps provide you with important additional data that you will really appreciate.
