A beginner can replace them and save a lot of money. Replacing the ignition coils and spark plugs on my 2002 Civic 1.7L cost me $57 and now it's working great again. It's impossible to top this considering the store is charging $200 or more for this simple job. Took about thirty minutes because I had a problem removing one of the old coils. Otherwise it would cost half that amount to do all the work. I smeared a drop of dielectric grease on each candle, just in case. I can't confirm durability yet but I expect they will last the rest of the car's life (222,000 miles). Good value for money.
