This appliance will not work well with a bottle of wine at room temperature. It just takes too long and doesn't chill the wine, but it doesn't. For this reason I would recommend chilling your wine first for maximum chilling life. outside of the product. It won't keep the wine as cold as you'd like for long, but it's better than nothing. I want to see the medium in the long end that comes in contact with the wine so the wine stays colder longer. I don't think the carrier is water in the tube but I wish it had more chill durability. Of course, when you drink from the bottle, less and less of the medium is left in contact with the wine.
