I've been looking for the top rated MERV 1" filters for a DIY project for a long time and they have worked flawlessly is working. Take 3 of these filters and 1 MERV 14 20x20 filter, tape them together in a box shape with a piece of cardboard for the bottom and attach to the back of a 20" box fan with cut to size charcoal. with odors and also act as a pre-filter. The fan has worked for several weeks with these filters and I haven't had any significant allergy attacks when I've been in a room at home with one of these air filters (I've made two). I highly recommend the Nordic Pure if you absolutely must have the highest possible MERV rating for a 1" filter, and at a very low price (although the 16x20, 18x20 and 20x20 1" MERV 14 easily cost $10 more for no apparent reason). .
