Took almost a year.
My 10 year old son doesn't have it easy, but he's not the type to throw away the remote either. He used it without the centerpiece for several months. In the end it just didn't work anymore. I'll be looking for another one but honestly I might just end up buying this one again knowing it won't last long. It works great, easy to set up but so cheap.
