I have an 85 pound German Shepherd who loves being outside during the day to sleep and sunbathe.The previous bed we used was not designed for outdoor use so I was concerned about mold and chose this bed as a preventive replacement.We have another brand of waterproof bed, which we use in his cage which has lasted for years but costs over $200 so we wanted something more economical.My dog loved this bed and took to it immediately.I checked 15 minutes after I put it on deck for him and found a 4" hole in the corner that pierced both the lid and the waterproof liner. My dog doesn't usually chew on his bed, but I must have tried my luck by accidentally putting a tag of cloth on it have enacted. I blame myself for this, but I don't think tearing off the fabric label should tear the stitching of the case and lining. From day one, the bed was no longer waterproof. It's mostly under a covered patio and only exposed to about an inch of rain if the wind blows in a certain direction, so it's not the end of the world. Two weeks later, the seam at the opposite end ripped. original hole, and more filling spills out. It's not so stuffed that my dog would rip the seams lying on it - now it's really very flat in the middle where it sleeps - so it just stinks of poor workmanship. I've had it for a little over a month and now it's mostly in tatters just from regular use. Strive for something better when you can afford it, and you'll save more in the long run.
