You get what you pay for

This review is for a 25 liter fermentation bucket. Anyone who wants to upgrade to an SS fermentation vessel will not be happy with the product. The problem lies in the production, the welding is so poorly done that it renders the fermenter unusable. I bought two of these as an upgrade for my PET Fermonster when they went on sale for Christmas 2019. Due to cold weather and life, I didn't unpack them until mid-February 2020. The valve is a little cheap and the connector is not standard but I figured that for the money saved I could upgrade it without too much hassle. The problem lies in the welds that connect the base to the cylinder. Both of mine have very poorly finished welds. There are pits and ridges throughout the seam. Obviously the QC people are sleeping at work. Because these welds are not smooth, there is no way to fully sanitize the fermentor. If I used them I would be at risk of infection every time. Surprisingly I'm not the only one with this problem. I've spoken to a few on the Brew forums and most have had the exact same issue. Some were able to return them for a refund, but unfortunately I missed the return window. Now I'm either going to throw them in the trash and spend whatever money I've spent, or I'm going to try and grind them. My advice to anyone looking at them is to save money and buy another product from a different manufacturer. It's garbage. I could buy an anvil for the money I spent on two of them. Please learn from my mistake.
