Review on WHITIN Minimalist Barefoot Sock Shoes: Non Slip Water Shoes for Women & Men - Multi-Purpose & Ultra Portable by Bubba Ott

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Thick outsole good enough for trail running

I'm a fan of minimalism and have been wearing mostly minimal shoes for about 10 years, so I've already gone through the inevitable plantar fasciitis that beginners will get (so calibrate this review accordingly). I walked down the trail this morning in these sock shoes and found that they hold my foot really well without slipping and the sole is thick enough that I don't bruise stepping on rocks. They slipped a bit on a step I took so be aware they are not as stable as regular shoes. a sock boot with a thinner sole that started smelling really bad after a few months and also started cracking in the sole after a few months of trail running. But overall, given the price of these sock boots, they tend to have a lower cost per mile than my other $100+ shoes that don't last a year.

Pros
  • The minimalist design promotes proper foot alignment and reduces the risk of injury.
Cons
  • Socks may not be suitable for people with heel spurs.
