Bought this pad to avoid drilling the mirror. I followed the instructions and put some nylon ties over it to hold it in place after gluing it on. I've been on the water a few times and had no problems. I attached a large transducer to it, which is quite heavy. Be sure to follow the instructions and mark the spot with a pencil so you know exactly where to install it. After removing the pad and attaching the spacer, it will be difficult for you to adjust it. There were no problems installing the sensor. Appears to be well made and durable.
