Great bike. Great transition bike

I was trying to find a bike to take our son off his Strider but didn't want a bike with a pedal foot brake (I wanted a free ride) like I think you are pointless as every adult BMX or MTB will have a freewheel rear hub. Also, I still wanted him to learn how to use the handbrake. This bike is an amazing value at $149 compared to cheaper old big 12-16 inch bikes priced at $80-$150. Good and wide tires (almost between a regular tire and a big tire bike) should help in learning balance. With the exception of the three-piece crank, this is essentially a kid's version of the more expensive full-size Mongoose Legion bikes. Very happy to find this bargain priced (in my opinion) as other bikes from SE, Hoffman, Haro etc cost twice as much and some still can't offer as much as this one. After seeing the quality of this bike I was dying to get myself a full size Mongoose Legion L100.

Pros
  • good thing
Cons
  • I won't say anything
