Review on πŸ”’ Enhanced Valve CD3830 - Universal Locking Removal Solution by Shahed Cleveland

I expected more.

Hard to recommend at this price point. Usually when you pay $30 for a driver it seems redesigned. This is not the case here. Plastic feels masterful. The plastic looks cheap. The bits are not flush with the tool because the magnet has to sit deeper in the screwdriver shank. The shaft mows easily and leaves the grip. When I rotate the tool, it wobbles. When I received it there was a layer of glue/epoxy/something on the metal rod that I scraped off and removed with PVC cleaner. Draft. It doesn't fit some devices because you don't have a tool clearance on the back of the mounting cover. This is rare but Lennox M# XP14-xxx-xxx-xx is an example. If you come across this and all you have is this tool, you'll try to use a sickle-wrench bat and a no-vent lid, which is flatbread! It would be a great product for a manufacturer to give away after the workshops. or tutorial. Save $30, though, and look for a twist-end screwdriver for the type of cap you typically see in the field. For me it's 99% R410a Novent caps. I still gave it 3 stars because I'm still using it and it hasn't broken yet. I am considering changing it once I decide to stop whining about it.

Pros
  • Magnetic tip holds bits securely in place
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks
