This is a mediocre caliper even at this price. The "fine adjustment roller" is not a roller at all, just a hard bulge that you have to press on. The imperial scale is difficult to read unless you add your own markings to distinguish between eighths, quarters, halves, and inches. I only use this caliper to compare objects, I don't even read the measurements off the caliper. However, it slides smoothly and the locking screw works perfectly. When you carry it in your car, the locking screw will vibrate if you don't tighten it every time you put it away. I can't recommend it even at this price.
