Okay, maybe my account is a little weak.

It's been a long time since I've used a vernier but I'm pretty sure there should be 9 marks from 0 to 8, this caliper has 7. calipers come with instructions on how to read the vernier scale, but they don't match the vernier caliper. I wasn't expecting too much for less than $20, but I was expecting the correct number of denominations from 0 to 8 (1/128th on the scale). When I read the fraction scale, the first line shows (1 + 1/3) / 128 inches, I bought this for field work but I doubt I can…

Pros
  • Measuring Range - This stainless steel caliper offers 2 measuring modes: 0-6 inch and 0-150 mm; Resolution: 1/128" and 0.01mm
Cons
  • unreliable

not suitable for measuring dimensions as described

This is a mediocre caliper even at this price. The "fine adjustment roller" is not a roller at all, just a hard bulge that you have to press on. The imperial scale is difficult to read unless you add your own markings to distinguish between eighths, quarters, halves, and inches. I only use this caliper to compare objects, I don't even read the measurements off the caliper. However, it slides smoothly and the locking screw works perfectly. When you carry it in your car, the locking screw will…

Pros
  • Locking function - stop screw function for batch measurement of pass/fail quality process
Cons
  • Requires socket

Disappointed with digital calipers

I've attached a picture. You can just watch it and skip my review. First, the imperial side doesn't work. It has a pitch of 1/6, not 1/8, and it doesn't match any of the lines on my test patterns. The metric side differs by 0.05 mm. The editing is terrible. The lower jaw was frayed and severely bit the metal. Many ridges on the surface. I know it's not a $100 caliper, but the problem with this caliper is not presentable. If I was in a store looking at this I would laugh, put it down and NOT buy

Pros
  • Accurate measurement - Thumbscrew in stainless steel caliper to rotate slide for more accurate slip measurements
Cons
  • Expensive
