This is a decent case for the price but too big for the WD My Passport Ultra 2TB USB 3.0 Portable External hard drives". I bought this for. It has a slight odor but it wasn't overpowering, in fact I hardly smelled it unless my nose was on the case. This case (pouch on top) zips open, you see. It's ok, but takes a little getting used to if you're right-handed and used to opening zippered cases. While the case is tough, I wouldn't recommend it for extreme use, just for storage and portability. The image shows a 2TB WD My Passport Ultra Portable External Hard Drive USB 3.0 inside the case and as you can see there is an extra 1 inch at the top and bottom of the drive. The case has a memory foam pad on one side to provide some protection in the event of a fall. Would only be returning for size but my Galaxy S5 fits me so it might be useful for something. The Case Logic PHDC-1 (previously bought for my 1TB Seagate drive) fits better. Similar specs except it doesn't have an outer shell or foam padding.
