My Favorite Weighted Vest

I’ve used a weighted vest for a couple of years and it’s provided a huge benefit to my workouts. You can use it during running, interval training, or even lifting. I use it mostly during interval training, finding that it supercharges the workouts, especially push-ups and pull-ups. I personally don’t run with it on due to possible joint issues, but many people do.This is my third weighted vest in 3 years and it’s definitely my favorite for a couple of reasons. First, the weight comes from steel bars which is, in my opinion, the only option. My first vest had bags filled with iron. After awhile, they fell apart and the iron shavings went everywhere. My second vest had larger steel plates, but they were too heavy and broke through the pockets. This vest is ideal because it uses solid steel rather than iron filled packets. It’s also great because the smaller steel bars are less likely to break through the pockets. The vest itself is very well made and fits me nicely. It doesn’t rub, but remember that the vest might not fit everyone perfectly. It has 42 pockets in which you place the bars. You can add and subtract bars to change the weight to whatever suits you, up to the max of 22 pounds. My vest came with a few extra steel bars too.I have two small complaints. First, getting the bars in the pockets is a bit of a pain. It took me around 5 minutes to get them all in. However, this is a one time thing unless you plan on changing the weight often. Second, this is my first vest to use a zipper. Given the wear and tear these vests take, I hope the zipper doesn’t break.Overall, however, this is a great weighted vest. It’s easily my favorite. Try it out to greatly enhance your workout!
