I use it in a long 20 gallon thermostatically controlled glass jar. That works great. It has no sticky side, it needs to be stuck with tape. The instructions say to use only clear tape, which I've done and so far so good. I liked this feature so it can be reused for other tanks if I decide to switch tanks. At first I was a bit confused because it's just a plastic wrap with a string attached. But don't let that confuse you. Good mat, heats up well and quickly. In combination with the thermostat this is perfect for my Leo aquarium.
