I bought this scanner thinking it would be more convenient than just using the scanner app on my phone. Completely unhappy. The software/drivers for this scanner do not appear to have been updated in 10 years. Every time I wake my computer from sleep I get about five error messages saying "Invalid argument" to the scanner and I have to click "OK" to get rid of them (although the scanner is still "running") ."). The scanner works - barely. It does not correctly recognize the size of documents and often leaves a black stripe on the left or right side of the scanned pages. It also crops the right third of the page incorrectly and there is no obvious one Way to fix this. I'm a tech savvy person and thought maybe I could troubleshoot and solve problems. I've tried and tried working with the settings (I probably spent a couple of hours researching and solving problems fix) but I think it's just a bad piece of outdated technology that Brother no longer needs to make or release a new model im impressed with the quality of some of Brother's products, their reputation doesn't shine through. I would avoid this and look for a scanner updated for the 21st century.
