The ixpand is great for expanding the storage of your iPhone or iPad. The issue I had was that the Lightning connector was physically disconnected rendering the entire drive unusable. I even bought a USB to Lightning adapter and it didn't work. If you want to protect a file, it must also be encrypted. This means that it must be transmitted to another device unencrypted. There is ZERO security between them. No password for app or individual files. I would not recommend this product until it gets a sturdier construction.
