Review on πŸ”§ Lumax Gray LX-1318 Rotary Barrel Pump for transferring Non-Corrosive, Petroleum Based, Light to Medium Viscosity-Like, Motor, Heavy, Transmission Fluid, and Heating Oils - Compact Size: 14 x 6.1 x 5.9 inches by Dru Labrado

Works well for a budget oil pump.

I've only used it to fill up about 5 gallons of diesel at the moment but it seems to be working fine. When reassembling I used an oil resistant pipe thread sealant. I believe the pump body is carbon steel and coated in paint. Someone has complained about metallic spots or metallic paint chipping in the engine oil, but I haven't had that problem yet. I use it in a 55 gallon fuel drum and it works much better than the small plastic transfer pump I used before. It's definitely good for fueling my compact tractor. NOTE: To all customers who hate this pump. It is NOT made of stainless steel and is NOT designed for anything water based. If you're pumping something petroleum based like diesel, heating oil, or motor oil, this pump will work. If you do something ignorant like using it to fertilize a water based lawn you are bound to run into the dreaded sticking problem that all other people who have not read and understood the description are complaining about. This is an oil drum pump, not a water pump. Use it for proper application and then write your review. UPDATE 6/30/2018: Still using this pump. I spilled about 100 gallons of fuel through it and it's still great for fueling my Kubota tractor. I definitely don't regret the purchase. Also, I didn't notice any metallic flakes as some other reviewers have mentioned. Seems to work exactly as intended.
