This is the third one I own. I switched to another brand mainly because it gets a lot of use and usually only lasts about 6 months. However, my last other brand started crashing on automatic shutdown and nearly boiled over a couple of times, which is pretty scary. There was also an issue with the spout that made it difficult to pour water without it spreading all over the kitchen counter, an issue this model doesn't have. So I grabbed another one for now because they are cheap and work quite well. However, the container is not a solid piece of stainless steel. There is a gap around it near the bottom, and when heated, a little water flows out of the seam, presumably due to uneven expansion between the parts. Well, that doesn't seem like a big deal. The leak isn't big enough to even get out of the base, but tends to pool a bit under the pot so you'll notice it when you pry it off the base. It appears never to have been in contact with electrical elements. However, I can't give it 5 stars because of this issue, but you might not be expected to get a solid piece of stainless steel for $20.
