Heats water quickly and very hot when ready. A little noise but not too bad. If you must use a cord (and I do) it works fine, but when you take the pan off the rack the rack is so light that the cord can drag it to the floor. Another thing is that you can't heat two pans in one roll. You'll need to let the pot cool down a bit before it turns back on and gets hotter. But it's even good that it doesn't overheat.
