It's been almost a year now. I connected it to Marantz sr5013. I really wanted to love him. I was planning to buy the SVS Prime range of speakers for my system, but after hearing this I changed my mind. It's too bright, and detail and vocals are only marginally better than the $100 Cerwin 2-Way Vega Center that I updated. I bought it thanks to the reputation they've somehow built and the sheer volume of 5 star reviews online (fake?). Many reviewers claim that the vocals are a lot cleaner! It's not like this. I have to set it to +16 to get clear voice quality when watching movies (and yes I've tried all the tricks). The build quality and design are excellent and it looks crisp, but the sound doesn't match the price. I can't speak to more expensive subwoofers or ultra series, but the SVS Prime series speakers are about 29% overpriced. If you research enough you will find that they use mid-range components in this speaker range, which begs the question why not produce at least mid-range components for a better sounding speaker since they charge a premium MSRP? Do yourself a favor, you can do better for money.
