Do not buy if your scanner does not have its own power supply
I was looking for an adapter for my OBD2 code reader. To make it an OBD1 code reader. I came across this adapter that converts a 16 pin connector to a 12 pin. They said it would work for everything up to 1996, right down to the Chevrolet GMC. Everything is properly plugged in and connected, but unable to power the scanner with the included adapter. So I removed the adapter and hope the OBD2 scanner works on my 2018 Kia and it turned on as soon as I plugged it in. I don't know why the adapter doesn't power the scanner, it's very bad.
