Review on ZOOKOTO 12V 42VDC Waterproof 50A 300A Power: Durable and High-performance by Robert Yates

The first unit I got was DOA but as the first 2 reviews were positive, I asked for a replacement. The device looks good and seemed to work on the first try, so I installed (glued) it to my solar panel to charge the boat's battery. Well, literally after 2-3 uses of cycling the fuse this weekend, the device broke down. I can press the button and the lever is released and the fuse goes "open" but when I return the lever to its original position it stays "open" meaning no contact and my solar panel becomes useless. Since I stuck it on I can't take it off to return it so it's my loss but damn that Chinese crap might just ruin your day. If you buy this stuff to save money like I did, make sure you test it dozens or hundreds of times before installing it on anything you need reliability for. Imagine you're out and the fuse blew and pulled something that you need to work with and you didn't have the tools to jump the wire. You're fucked if you can't reset the fuse (i.e. you're the bait pump isn't working because you can't reset the fuse and you just bought $40 worth of live bait. This can be your weekend ruin as your bait may not live long enough to reach the bottom (not counting the wasted $40) . Definitely think about the savings before installing this crap.
