I bought a new MacBook Pro in November and found a lack of compatible connectors for all my drives and memory cards. After researching many different adapters, I settled on CharJen. The product was great as it allowed pass-through charging and also provided the necessary adapters for SD, MicroSD and USB 3 ports. It fit the bill and felt like a quality product. The only downside was that this version didn't have an HDMI port. Luckily for those days when I need an HDMI output, this connector adapter is just the ticket. Space Gray is a bit darker than Apple's (see images) but very close. Also handy is the ability to plug in left or right, depending on where your peripheral cables are located. It's compact and works with my TwelveSouth Journal cover without sacrificing performance. The only downside is that the adapter may be plugged in but slightly ajar, which appears as if it's plugged in, but it isn't. The good thing is that this is easy to diagnose as the CharJen adapter has an 'active' LED which then goes out (you can see this in the last photo). I am very impressed with the fit, finish and high quality. this product. I would definitely recommend it for its compact size, very competitive cost and flexibility to move from any side. Review by CharJen: I would recommend stamping the "glowing symbol" Type C - TB3 on both sides of the adapter so that one can easily identify which USB-C port is TB3, whether it's from the left or right side is plugged in.
