I was very happy with this skimmer. I bought another skimmer many years ago and didn't have much success with it, but at this price I was willing to try this one. I purchased this product to use in a 180 gallon saltwater aquarium. When it arrived the first thing I thought was that it looked well put together and was a quality product. The second thing I noticed is that there are absolutely no instructions on how to set it up or set it up. The setup was easy to understand. The construction took a little longer. It took about a week and a half for the device to stop bubbling, and I finally found that the sweet spot was about 6 inches of water in the sump for it to operate at maximum efficiency (I placed a shard box under the device for lifting). high since my sump is deep enough for my return pumps to work). The air and drain hose is an unusual/unusual size and should be approximately 4 to 6 inches longer than the drain line to facilitate draining. That's all the negatives (of which there isn't much). I am very satisfied with the performance of the device and can only recommend it. It takes up little space in the palette, works very quietly, is of high quality and at a reasonable price.
