Review on πŸ“Ά High-Speed Wireless N ADSL2 Modem Router Combo with High Gain Antenna - Netis DL4323 300Mbps by Brent Cole

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good insurance best for computers and accessories

This review is for the netis DL4323 ADSL2+ modem/router. A recent series of annoying, albeit infrequent, disconnects while using my current 4.5 year old D-Link modem made me think it might be starting to fail. There were very few replacements for this old technology, but I was happy to find this Netis modem/router. In my particular situation, a wireless router is not required as I am only connecting to a desktop PC, so I did not enable the router's wireless feature during setup. I'm using a faster Ethernet cable. The installation from my AT&T DSL (pre-release) to my desktop computer (Windows 10) was easy, error-free, and quick, following the quick install guide I wrote exactly. I downloaded it from the Netis support site before purchasing to make sure it would connect to my ISP. Windows 10 connection wizard did not work. Subsequent internet download and upload speed tests showed roughly the same speed as my D-Link. Since I'm currently using Netis, I'm assuming the D-Link is nearing the end of its lifespan when it stops dropping connections. If there are more disconnects, I'm guessing it's not D-Link's fault, but something else, maybe AT&T DSL. In any case, I have insurance with a backup modem that might not be available if I had waited much longer. This review is primarily for ease of setup as I've only been using it for a few days. Only time will tell if it will last as long as my D-Link.

Pros
  • Modem Router Combo
Cons
  • Easy maintainability
