This was easier than I thought to make bungee cords for home use. The plastic is pretty thick. I bought a large bungee cord, cut it to length, fed it through and pulled the cord back through, tensioned it - and voila, a new ready-made bungee cord. They seem to hold up pretty well, but they can slip a bit under heavier weights - you'll need to tie a knot or two to keep the line from slipping. I've tried pulling the cord into the mount as tightly as I can before applying decent tension and they still slip. So one star off for design, but for most basic things they're pretty good. If you need to hold a heavier load, you'll probably want some of the fasteners, such as B. pre-assembled elastic cords, crimp.
