Acting like an antenna of sorts, this little guy doesn't extend the signal but puts the keys within reach. I think we've been using it daily for a few years now and the only complaint is that it's hard to find at times. Totally satisfied and would buy again. PS: It was only used as a mouse and keyboard button or occasionally as a doghouse for Linux puppies. I have never tried large translations and cannot attest to the speed or effectiveness. I can say it did a great job downloading a pup, launching web browsers, streaming 1080 netflix and flash games, but I don't know how many connections were involved at the time. Never had problems with slow PUP installation or inability to install RAM.
